Growing Well Beyond a Retail Dispensary, Terrapin Care Station Rebrands to Meet Multi-State Growth

In 2009 our founder, Chris Woods knew the world was changing. A nascent medical marijuana market was growing in Colorado and signs pointed to the legalization of recreational use. Opening the first Terrapin Care Station retail location on Manhattan Circle in Boulder combined a hobby with the desire to build a legacy, while meaningfully benefiting people needing alternatives to painkillers. Not even he realized, however, the voracity of consumers and the opportunities that would unfold.

Now approaching 350 employees with 6 Colorado retail locations, cultivation and production labs in Michigan and Pennsylvania, and additional states currently under development, Terrapin has grown to represent so much more than physical dispensaries – the Care Stations. Our products are found on shelves across Michigan and Pennsylvania under brands including Terrapin Whole Flower, Double Bear Concentrates, The Woods Select Reserve and Resolute Remedies. Terrapin Care Station has flourished beyond its retail location reputation.

Simplifying our broad company name to Terrapin while keeping the recognizable namesake Terrapin Care Station allows Terrapin to extend our brand products in other states, while still continuing to allow retail locations to focus on their mission of creating an approachable, value-driven retail experience.
