“Imagine sitting in a cell – sentenced to as much as life in prison – for growing, selling or buying cannabis while others are free to legally create inter-generational wealth doing the same thing. That is the situation for more than 40,000 prisoners in America.”

Last Prisoner Project, a nonprofit organization based out of California is aiming to give cannabis convicted prisoners their lives back. Conceived in 2019 by dispensary owner and activist Steve DeAngelo, the organization developed three main priorities – clemency, re-entry, and advocacy.
